Even the birds of the
air have nests and
the doxes have dens,
but poor Freddy has
nowhere to park his
Toyota.
Freddy Freeloader
lives in Asheville
and has a 9 o'clock
class every morning.
One morning rece^atly
he was late, so late
that when he arrived
on campus there were
no parking places in
front of the Administ-
tration building,
where his class meets
at that time. Fran
tically, he drove to
Fox; all parking,
spaces were taken and
some cars were even
double parked. Fred
dy drove to the li
brary parking lot—
nothingI He was just
about to panic when
he remembered 'one
more place, behind
Moore Auditoriuiji. He
drove back there to
find every one of’the
places taken by;, cars
and four blue and
gold buses. He
looked at his watch
to find it was 9:25.
Finally, in des
peration, Freddy sped
down the hill,
whipped around behind
the gym,
greedily across the
bridge, and with a
suicidal grin across
his face headed
straight for the goal
posts at the north
end of the football
field. At last, a
clear, uncluttered
parking space was
his I After neatly
manuevering his yel
low fastback between
the posts, he quick
ly penciled a note,
put it on the wind
shield, and dashed
off to class only to
meet his classmates
coming out of the
building because
class had been dis
missed 10 minutes
earlyI Reluctantly
he turned around and
trudged down the hill
toward the science
building where his
10 o'clock meets. In
the distance he could
see the comer of his.
