Coach Gibson's foot ball career began at Asheville High School ''here he lettered in football, basketball, and track three years, his senior year, 1957, be won the state champ ionship in the high hurdles. He played football for N.C. State hniversity and in his ®anior year, was an all ACC defensive back and Played in four all-star Sames. In 1962, Gibson was drafted by the San hiego Chargers. His ifrst season there, he ''as second in the AFL in interceptions. He Played the 1963, 1964, ®ad 1965 seasons with the Oakland Raiders. in 1967, he returned to become coach of the de- f ensive secondary at N.C. State University ^hat year N.C. State led the ACC in defense and compiled a 9-2 sea son record. In '68 he c oached with the New England Patriots and 1ieves in this college, its administration, faculty, and especially in its students. Mr. Edwards stressed that the job would "of fer one the opportunity to work with fellow students in a position of responsibility and leadership." The res ident assistants norm ally have responsibil ity for 40-45 students. The job is sometimes time consuming and frustrating. One is not only required to enforce college rules and regulations but al so to be active in the WMHC to Air WMHC, the campus radio station, will re sume broadcasting Mon day, Feb. 12 at 7 a.m. The station was closed during mini-mester to allow the staff to re model and plan new pro gramming . The new programming includes campus news, a 15 minute summary of e- vents to be aired at 7:00 on Tues. and Thur. and Album Side, heard weekdays at 11:00 bringing newly released LP' s. Programming also includes "The Forum" by Mike O'Brian at 8:00 on Thursdays and Powerline on Sundays at 4:30. The station will op erate from 7-9 a.m. each morning and in the evening from 1 p.ra. - 1 a.m. social life of the dorm and be available as a friend and advisor when needed. If you would like to apply for this challen ging position, then drop by the student de velopment office and pick up an application An added incentive that the job $500 a year might be carries a stipend. Applications will be available starting Feb. 15 and must be returned by 5:00 p.m. March 1. Selection will be made during March by means of group and in dividual interviews.
