They lost the first game on Friday, March 2 to Elon College by a score of 49-42. Que Tucket with 11 points and Pat Reid with 9 points were the lead ing scorers for Mars Hill. Saturday morn ing, the girls de feated Peace College 56-49. In this game, Que Tucket with 18 points and Debbie Wy- cle were the leading scorers. On Saturday afternoon, the women were defeated in the consolation final by Wake Forest to the tune of 67-49. Going into this game. Mars Hill had defeated UNC-A 65-24 and ended the regular season with a loss to Win- throp 57-49. The leading re bounders for the wo men cagers this sea son were Debbie VJycle with 7.1 rebounds per game, Beth Moore with 6.1 and Pat Reid with 5.6 carroms per game. Leading scorers for Mars Hill were Que Tucker with 10.6 points per game, Beth Moore with 8.2 points' per game, and Kathy Harris with a 7.3 av erage. The only- graduat ing senior this year is Beth Moore, and Coach Hollingsworth is looking forward to another fine season next year. TENNIS SEASON OPENS The MHC tennis squad, coming off the b est season in Coach Harrold Wood's coach- boltkn Girl^* Sought "Golden Girls" (originally Hoot's Honeys) is or will be the name given to a group of girls who have a general know ledge of our campus activities and have the time to spend in an effort to help our school and athletic department. The main activit ies of these girls will be to explain the campus, curricu lum and activities of Mars Hill to recruits Application for the Golden Girls are a- vailable in the li brary, cafeteria and student center. These may be mailed to box 266-C or drop ped by Fox 301 or 314. On March 21 and 22, Alice Arndt and Elaine VJilson will be in Chambers Lounge from 2:30 till 4:30 to talk with any girls who sire inter ested in this pro- ing tenure, are look ing forward to ano ther fine campaign in 1973. Coach Wood feels that this sea son will be compara- ble to last season, despite the loss of number one player S aunani Gsaioa and Jim Thomas. The top eight players at the present time, in or der, are Randy Gib son, Dave Corbin, Lee Wilkinson, Gary Mil- lete, Larry Clouse, Harrington, Stair, and Murray.
