The Consortium is composed of five colleges and univer sities and four agen cies for the purpose of learning and un derstanding as they preserve the culture of the Appalachian Mountain Region. The colleges and universities: Appa lachian State Univer sity, Western Caroli na University, East Tennessee State Uni versity, Lees-McRae College, and Mars Hill College; and the four agencies: Moun tain Scenic Economic Development District, the U.S. Forest Ser vice, and the Blue /'sar V ’ 'nty years from now people , be looking back at the new i of black films with their ;aesar’s parlor u»HK J Scye^ajes "3" SWSn jfr«#T % hilfmer^M Ridge Parkway, are here to discuss such topics as preserva tions of forests, mu sic and art of the mountain regions, scenic development and other aspects of Appalachian culture. Also under debate is the evaluation of the graduate credit avai lable and courses un der this area as well as the evaluation of the effectiveness of the Consortium. well as to represent the college and aid in spreading the name of the college. There were several highlights to the performances that the band presented. In "Clarinet on the Town" by Ralph Her man, the clarinet section was featured while in "Vivaldi Trumpet Concerts" by Antonio Vivaldi, Steve Floros and Kent Gall were featured on trimipet. The nine member Trombone En semble, directed by Mr. Richard Cryder, was a separate part of each performance playing jazz numbers. Each program var ied in it's content of marches and novel ty numbers. There is no doubt that direc tor Ray Babelay and the sixty one members of the band, enjoyed the program, and re presenting Mars Hill College while on tour in Florida.
