Also a spot starter last year, Dalton shows great desire and has been working hard this fall. Nail ing down the other starting role is last- season's All-Confer ence and All-District forward Jimmy Graves. Graves led the team in rebounding and was second in scoring with 14.9 points per game. Kim Deweese and Rick Smith will see a lot of action at the guard posi tions. Deweese is a freshman from Waynes- ville, and Smith is a transfer from UNC- Asheville. As a se nior, Don Cole will provide qualified backup help at the center position. Donald Icenhour, a 6' 3"^, 200 pound fresh- man from Mountain View, is pushing for a starting role at forward. Buford Cole and John Patterson, ,6'9" and 6'7" respec tively, add more depth to the wing and post positions.Round ing out the '7 5-'7 6 Mars HiJ-l squad are walk-ons John Winkenwerder of Ashe ville, Randy McDowell of Canton, and Phil Monteith of Cashiers. The Lions look with anticipation to the upcoming season. With an interesting and talented mixture of young ball players,an exciting season is foreseen.Coach Lytton has best summed it up by saying, "At this point, I feel the District Playoffs are not an unrealistic goal." The mee ting was held so that the Senate could de termine general cam pus concerns and work for thier elimination. Those issues dis cussed include the following: -Parking,especially on N.C. 213 -Expenditure of the $25.00 dorm fee -Inequity of scho larship distribution -Lack of local en tertainment and ac tivities , especially after 11:P0 P.M. -College Union bud get -Legal Assistance Program -Student Court -Student represen tation on College and Faculty Committees and on the Board of Trustees -Need for a more effective media of communication -Title X,Homecoming and the elimination of discrimination on the basis of sex -Alcohol on campus -Interdorm visita tion -Mandatory purchase of meals in the cafe teria -Preferential sea ting for the Golden Club and fraternal organizations in Mears Stadium This Saturday the Senate and the otheX branches of the S.G.A* are having an all dsY .workshop to deal specifically with these issues.
