Last year, in a sim ilar tournament, the young ladles were forced to return to Mars Hill with no thing but fond mem ories and a short break from their studies. This time, the Lady Lions came back with the satis faction of knowing they are the second best team in Division II in North Carolina. After gaining a forfeit over N.C. Central in the sche duled first round, the Lady Lions went on to play Pfeiffer College in the semi finals. It was a nip and tuck game all the way,- with neither team gaining a deci sive edge. With two minutes left to play in regulation time, Susan Blakely pumped home a basket to tie the game at 67 and move the game into overtime. The women responded well to the pressure and went on to win the game 81-78 for Mars Hill. Billie Boyd played a super game, coming off the bench to score 19 points. Sharon Bradley and Linda Robinson scored 14 points each, while Paula Corbin added 10 points. The Lady Lions moved into the finals to play High Point. Haunted by an earlier 32 point loss to the Panthers, the girls never got on the track after the first half. The Lady Lions led for the first 18 minutes of the game, Qont. on page 6 Elections Elections for S.G.A. officers will be held March II, 1976.
