I. Old Business A. The SGA Budget for 1976-77 was approved. B. Chief Justice Hill reported on the changes made the Fire Safety Equipment proposal (presented at the last meeting) by the Judicial Council. Changes in the ''titten proposal will insure a student of his rights to due process of law before suspension. The proposal was Passed. C. Mr. Bill Barnes, a Weaverville attorney, was ap proved to provide legal assistance to Mars Hill College students, with his salary to be paid by the SGA. II. New Business A. Dennis Hyatt reported progress of the Food Com- '®ittee and requested more student input and ideas on the '^sfeteria management from the Senate. B. The Freshman class workshop was announced for November 17, 1976. II. Beginning this year. Book ^change will open the last week of spring and fall se- '•'esters and remain open two weeks into new spring and ^all semesters. When a student leaves his book with the Wk Exchange, his name and the price he is asking will “u inserted inside the book. The student^s name and price ''ill also be recorded on a legal book belonging to the Student Book Exchange. Other students will be able to buy Jhat student's book at the stated price if he or she so Usires. The Student Book Exchange will take 15% of the P’^lce for handling books and return the remainder of ^oney to the students who have put them up for sale, ^ring the third week after the semester has started, all Students must pick up unsold books or the money collected sold books.If the books are not picked up during -that Pime, they become the property of the Student Book ^change. This system has been devised to save students money and pother, and it is hoped that students will make use of it, u do so,they must bring their books behind the cafeteria the area where the refrigerators are rented. Photo by Sam Tunstall Around Campus: OhBoylExamTime The Student Government Association has great news for stu dents who need to study I (and who doesn't?)Cornwall’Hall will be open all night for exam studying beginning December 6 and continuing through exam week. Thanks is extended to both Dr. Bentley and Dr. Hoffman for helping to make this possible. Students are asked to remember that this will be the week before exams as well as exam week. Also, plans are for this policy to ‘be carried out next semester as well. AYuletide Party Wren College Union cordially Invites students to a Christ'- mas party to be given in the College Union Friday, December 10, from 7pm until midnight. Included in the festivities will be a reception (with free food), Christmas caroling, a Christmas reading, a puppet show,and Santa Claus(ln person). The classic movie, "A Christmas Carol," will be shown (along with some cartoons),the Bookstore will join in the Christmas spirit with a 10% discount sale, there will be a sale of crafts, and to top it all a Disco, Top 40 dance in the Snack Bar. Finally, there are over $250 in cash and gifts to be a- warded (students must register and be present to win).Since there is no admission the College Union Invites everyone to join in the fun. Once Is Not Enough According to Ellen Coomer, Director of Health Services,the U. S. Department of Health, Education and Welfare/Public Health Service has recommended a "booster" dose of the flu vaccine for persons between the ages of 18-24 years. The Infirmary has the vaccine available and will be giving it between the hours 2pm-5pm. The vaccine is still available for persons still wishing to take the first dose. There is no charge for the vaccine. Any organization wishing to have items included in the 'Around Campus ' column should send news of its activities to the Hilltop, Post Office Box 1148-C.
