A $100,000 grant from The Kresge
Foundation of Troy, Michigan, has been
awarded Mars Hill College to be used in
the completion of the school’s new ad
ministration building, Blackwell Hall.
The Kresge Foundation was created
in 1924 by the personal gifts of the late
Sebastian S. Kresge and is not affiliated
or associated with any other corporation
or organization. Since its inception,
appropriations in excess of $311 million
have been made to institutions in the
fields of higher education, health ser
vices, the arts, social welfare, and the
care of the young and old.
The Foundation awards funds pri
marily toward the construction or major
renovation of facilities and generally
requires the raising of additional
funds on a matching basis. Under the
terms of Mars Hill’s grant, the college
