MHC Comes to LIFE:
The Spring session of LIFE (Learning
Institute for Elders) will be held at Mars
Hill beginning April 3. LIFE is designed
for mature adults seeking new outlets
for their skills and interests as well as
fellowship with their peers. The institute
will offer two classes this spring which
will meet each Tuesday morning in the
ground floor classroom of Memorial
Library.
Spring Visitation Days:
Mars Hill College is sponsoring two
Spring Visitation Days for prospective
students and their families Saturday
March 17, and April 14. Each day’s ac
tivities begin at 9:30 a.m. with registra
tion in the lobby of Blackwell Hall.
Following registration, guided tours
will be given to prospective students and
their parents. They will also have the op
portunity to talk with faculty members
from all departments.
During the afternoon, a session with
the financial aid director is planned.
For those who must travel long dis
tances, short-term on-campus accom
modations will be available. Reserva
tions and additional information are
available from the Office of Admis
sions, Mars Hill College, Mars Hill,
N.C. 28754, telephone 704/689-1201.
Present MHC students are encour
aged to welcome prospective students
and be as helpful as possible. Also, if
they know of any students interested in
MHC, they are asked to make them
aware of these visitation days.
Summer Counselors:
Applications are being accepted for
residential counselors in the Gifted and
Talented summer programs. Applicants
need to have experience working with
elementary and secondary students or
express interest in doing so. Employ
ment is from June 10 through July 20.
Compensation is minimum wage plus
room and board. Efforts will be made to
assist students to find other employment
on campus at the conclusion of the pro
gram. Applicants should expect a de
manding 24-hour schedule. Applications
are available in the Admissions Office.
Deadline is March 16.

mer, one in Spanish and one in French,

The schools provide an intensive study
in the French or Spanish language and
culture for beginning and intermediate
level students through daily training in
