Groundbreaking for the chapel was in October 1987, and the majority of the construction has been completed by volunteer work crews from all over the South. Recently, in order to speed up the final stages of the project, five full-time carpenters were hired. These men work from Mon day to Friday, and the volun teers come in on the weekends to do additional work. A large stained-glass window entitled "Pilgrimage" was donated by Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Alexander, Jr. and installed last week in the chapel. Of the window, campus minister Marie Bean comments, "The double helix suggests the soul's yearning for God. Augustine wrote, 'Our souls are restless till they find their rest, O God in Thee.' But the yearning of the soul response to the prior moV' of God toward us."
