The Hilltop of MHC - page 2 Friday, February ^ BE MY VALENTINE Amy Webb staff columnist Valentine’s Day is ap proaching an love is in the air. More roses, balloons, and candy are received on this day than any other day of the year. Also more people are begin ning to get married or engaged on Valentine's Day. I guess ro mance just seems to happen. Why? Love is important to the average American. This holi day is a way of honoring your "Special Someone" by asking them to be your Valentine. It's a way of showing them how much you care. And usually love happens when you feast suspect it. You have to admit that "good love" and "real love" are a couple of wonderful feel ings, So you better watch out, Cupid is around the corrter, and he's aiming at your heart! For Interested Students: On February 20, 1992, the manager and director of Camp Chestnut Ridge will be on carn- pus from 10 am to 2 pm recruit ing for summer staff positions. Extended Visi tation, Added Fees Pro posed continued Opinions Letter to the Editor riMEOUT Home M Missions "Be responsi- bie and sim- piy throw it away!" from Homi Stan Toney guest writer 1 have been appalled at the amount of trash that is lying around our campus. I give cam pus tours and it is embarrassing! How can 1000 adults, who co exist in one place, not have the decency to throw a simple wrap per away. Also, people’s ciga rette butts are lying around. The school invested in canisters to be outside the buildings and dorms, and people are still too lazy to use them. I love my school and have a lot of pride in it. I don't think it speaks very highly of the quality of students when there is trash laying around. Be responsible and simply throw it away! A great gift is one given to another in the spirit of true love. In giving we receive the real gift. W. Clement Stone ex pressed this thought in his The Gift of Giving. Be generous! Give to those you love; give to those who love you; give to the fortunate; give to the unfortunate - yes, give especially to those to whom you don’t want to give. You will re ceive abundance for your giv ing. The more you give, the more you will have! Name withheld by editor Give a smile to everyone you meet (smile with your eyes) and you’ll receive smiles. Give a kind word (with a kindly thought behind the word) and you will receive kind words. Give appreciation (warmth from the heart) and you will be appreciated. The increase would up the SGA budget from $4,735 to $20,000. The fees bill was approved by the students by a vote of 71% in favor and only 28% against (242 people voted). As stated before, the above proposals are being reviewed by President Bentley. In a final word, SGA President Jonathan McCoy says "1 hope you will con tinue to support SGA and help us do our best to help you." TAKE THE KEVS. CALL A CAB. TAKE A STAND.
