Amy Webb’s Spider’s Webb Thankfulness Why am I thankful? Let me count the ways. I am thankful for my parents who brought me into this world. I am thankful for the hugs and kisses they gave me each day. They taught me how to ride a bike and kissed my skiimed knees. They waved good-bye as I left for college. I am thankful for friends who have been there for me throughout the years. They have given me shoulders to cry on and listened with kind ears. We’ve watched each other grow into mature adults. I am thankful for their friendship. For this I am very much thankful. I am thankful for life. The joys and trials alike. I am thankful for the memories and lau^s. I am thankful for the crickets and the chirping birds. I am thankful for the croaking frogs and the big, tall oaks. There are so many things for which I am thankful. I could never begin to make a list. Each year, the list gets longer even in the bad times. Maybe it is those times I realize how thankful I am. CHAOS by Brian Shuster "I'm worried about my marriage. This is a bit off-color, ofi'-track, off-in-the-wild-blue- yonder somewhere, but today’s stress-relieving topic of discussion is the notorious lip-lock. We’ve all done it. Actually, I’m hoping that we haven’t all done it. You know, they say that when you sleep with someone, you sleep with every person they have slept with. So what about this kissmg thing. If you are or have been an active mouth explorer and exchanged saliva at one time or another with a person on this campus, I say you have swapped spit with every person that they have. Say you are a junior and have kissed between 2 and 37.5 people since you have been in the early zip-lock, lip-lock, hormonal stages; and say two-thirds of those people have zip-lock, lip-locked with at least 8 other people. Please multiply the numbers out now...Subtract the possible people who you have also directly kissed...Add up the people who have kissed you and you alone (if there are Ok, what kind of number did you come up with? 19.95? $700 #1,000? 3.1419...? , What? You’ve kissed all of Mars Hill? That’s Case Study. (The names have been changed to the innocent) . Curly kissed Suzy back in February. Curly’s rooDU'^, Jorge is dating (and kissing) Suzy, now. Therefore, ; kissed Curly. Does Curly realize this? He does now! j What about those two months back in her freshmaflr when Suzy was looking for a feeling of security and be close with an entire fraternity? Was it Curl/s Who knows? Does Jorge know? And what about Jorge’s high school sweetheart, Isn’t she hanging out with the basketball team at W State University this semester? Does this mean fraternity boys from Small Liberal Arts College, Bumble Doogie, N.C. have lip-locked with the center on the Western State U. basketball team? That’s too bad. I Sorry, my psychiatrist says I must leave you now. For Excellence In Service and Learning THE L TOP Presents... The Hilltop has added a new feature to its publication.
