Bob Shaffee is an accountant with J.K. Lasser & Co. in Washington, D.C. and he and Christine live in Bethesda, Md. Joe Hurney is an accountant with the Department of Commerce in Washinton, D.C. and he and Kathleen live in Wheaton, Md. John Clemens is Sales Representative for Rueben D. Donnelley in Washington, D.C. Bob Thanski teaches Chemistry at Bishop Moore High School in Orlando, F’lorida and he and Jean live in Casselberry. Henry Duval is Application Engineer with Honeywell in McLean, Va. ’67--George McCauley and Pat Hurley (’68) stopped by on their way to Florida and gave us lots of news of their former classmates. George has been released from the Army where he served as Captain in the Military Police. He made two tours of duty in Vietnam. Frank Chupko is in the Navy in California and getting ready to leave on his second tour of duty in Vietnam. Chuck Sullivan has had a poem published and will be working on his Master’s in creative writing at UNC- Greensboro this fall. Bruce Thompson is with Bordens in New York City. Creighton Schneck received his Master’s in business from C.W. Post in New York and is working with Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. there. Richard Phillips teaches history and religion in Levittown, N. Y. Mike Del Priore is with Chase Manhattan Bank; he and Nancy Fisher were married May 1. Mike Dugan is an electrician in Washington, D.C. George Affuso teaches in Jersey City. ^ We enjoyed talking with Bob Smithwick on the telephone. He is with Fahnstock Investment Co. and he and his wife Glyn live in New York. Enjoyed the letter with news of Joe Pendergast. He is District fclxecutive for Boy Scouts of America in the Central Ohio Council. He is married to Cathy Brooks (SH’66) and they have four children-'Michelle, four, Joseph, junior, two and a half, John, fifteen months, and Jennifer two months. They are living in Columbus, Ohio. Carl and Herb Obser stopped by when they were visiting down South on vacation. Herb is working on his Master’s in health and physical education at Brooklyn College and teaches school in Brooklyn. Vince Tolson is airport engineer with the City of Richmond, Va. Vince, Susan and their two daughters live in Richmond. John Einstein is Manufacturing Manager with Advanced Mining Equipment & Service Co. in Huntington, W. Va., where he, Sidney and their three children live. Michael Zurhorst we hear, works in the computer center at Cath. University. Donald Dufaux is working on a doctorate in student personnel services at the University of South Carolina. Heath Strawn is a chemist with American Cyanamid Co. in Charlotte. David Baer is Vice President of Dave Baer Hosiery Mills in Rock Hill, S.C. Roy Zic is manager of Wexlers Formal Wear in Queens, N.Y. Congratulations and best wishes to Steve Keller and Blythe Artman, who were married in St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Suffolk, Va., on August 28. ’68 - Johnny Lawing is a senior claims representative with Aetna Casualty & Surety Co. in Charlotte. Frank Schaefer is a buyer for Grand Way in Paramus, N.J. Larry Armstrong teaches at Stanley High School and is also head basketball coach there. Sharon Folk is Executive Vice President of National Business Forms in Greenville, Tenn. Jim Nissley is with the Central National Bank in Richmond. James Carpenter is an accountant with Walter E. Baker in Mt. Holly, and he and Katherine live in Bessemer City. Pamela Wright is a social worker with the Orange County Department of Social Welfare in Santa Ana, Calif. Pat Hurley is back from Vietnam. Steve Thayer is a Lieutenant in the Army stationed in Vietnam. Tommy Hirsch is out of the Army, having served in Korea, and is now in Law School at Seton Hall. Pat Blevins is in the Army. He and Bettie have been living in Charlotte. Our deepest sympathy to Kays Gary (LHD’68)on the tragic death of his wife in a fire at their home on July 17. Congratulations and best wishes to Julio Leung and Amy Djang, who were married July 31 in Brooklyn, N.Y. Had a note from Jay Jarecki. He and Jackie have two boys: Adam, three, and John, one. Jay is still with Burlington Madison Yarn Co. ’69 -- Kevin O’Connor is a pharmacist in the Army stationed at Fort Dix. James Fallishas received a Master’s degree from Northern Arizona University and will work on his doctorate at Cambridge. Joe Bullock is a social worker in New York City. 1st Lt. James Cook stopped by the Abbey in June on his way to Washington, D.C. to a TKE reunion. He left for Vietnam on August 9 where he will be a helicopter pilot. He told us that Charles McNerney is in Vietnam, and that Richard Frick and Angie Sorrell (Sacred Heart) were married June 19. Burma (Hill) Wooten stopped by in July. Her husband has enrolled as a student here at the Abbey, and they are living in Charlotte. Peter Olenick stopped by to say hello. He is Sales Repre. for Holiday Inn No. 4 in Charlotte. Bob and Rochida (’68) Faille and their young daughter Sarita visited the Abbey in August. Bob is in the Navy at the Naval Base in Millington, Tenn. Michael Keeney is Branch Manager of Maryland National Bank in Baltimore. David Gentilini is an investigator in the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office in Bridgeton, N.J., and he and Diane live in Vineland. Richard Russo is a sales representative with Campbell Sales Co. in Charlotte. Chuck Miller is with theF.B.I. in Washington and he and Jennifer live in Bethesda. Watch your No. 3 card Chuck! J.G. Mike Motley is an auditor with the U.S. General Accounting Office in Washington. John Schrenker is an accountant with W. O. Daley & Co. in Orlando, Fla. John, Virginia, and their three daughters live in Orlando. George Englert is an Accountant-Auditor with the U.S. General Accounting Office. Robert Horan is in the Navy. Max Swoboda is with Lloyd E. Mitchell, Inc., in Baltimore. Robert DiValentin is in dental school at the Medical College of Virginia. Ted Lynn is a counselor with the N.C. Vocational Rehabilitation in Gastonia. Bob Chism is manager of Western Auto in Birmingham, Ala. Richard Mudd is with the Division of Parole & Probation of Maryland. Robert McCarthy stopped in when he was down on vacation. He teaches fifth grade in Lincoln Park, N.J. 1st Lt. Mark McMahon, USMC, completed his tour of duty in Vietnam and was assigned to Okinawa for the remainder of this year. Before leaving Saigon, he was awarded the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry and Bronze Star in a special ceremony. That’s more than I got Mark. J.G. It was good to see Walter Kennedy when he was at the Abbey for Bob Edsell’s wedding. He was graduated from OCSatFt. Benning, Ga. on September 30 and was commissioned in Military Intelligence. He is stationed at Ft‘. Huachuca, Arizona. Edward Bielen visited the Abbey in July. He and Marilyn have been teaching and living in Florida. Sam Jermgan stopped by in July and August. He is mgr. of two Cablevision Cos. one in Rockingham, N.C. , and the other in Cheraw, S.C. and lives in Rockingham. Congratulations and best wishes to Steve Wyatt and Carol Ann Bianko (Sacred Heart), who were married in Jacksonville, Fla. on August 7. They stopped by the Abbey in August. Steve is a sales representative for Chicopee Mills, a division of Johnson & Johnson, in Atlanta, Ga. Howard Jones is Employee Benefits Supervisor with Gerber Food Products and he and Brenda live in Hendersonville, N.C. Ronald McCoy is a Lieutenant in the Air Force. Gary Verno is an auditor with Price, Waterhouse & Co. in Pittsburgh. Mike Fitzsimmons was here for Ted Hayes’ wedding. Mike has been working in a bank in. River Forest, 111., ari'd expects to go in the Army in October. He and Theresa Tassone are planning their wedding for May. Jerry Cloninger attended Army Reserve Officers’Training Corps basic summer camp at Ft. Knox, Ky. from June 11-July 22. William Robichaud stopped by for a visit in August.
