Mary Cook came to the Abbey
in 1954 from American & Efrid
Mills where she worked as
secretary to the president. She
has held a number of positions at
the Abbey but is presently
executive secretary to our
president, Fr. John Bradley.
Mary’s background is quite
colorful. She has not only worked
in industry and in the legal field,
she sang over WBT as one of the
Rhythmetts and was written up
in Variety. Mary’s poetry and
short stories have appeared in
the Charlotte Observer.

Allen, a junior at the Abbey,
returned to college after an
absence of some ten years. He
served as executive editor of the
Charleston Gateway Magazine,
and was involved in advertising
and public relations. His articles
have appeared in Sandlapper,
Ford Times, Aloft, The James
Island Journal and the Methodist
Advocate.

Dr. Ziegler, “Distinguished
Teacher for 1971-72,” was chosen
from among faculty nominees
from each of Florida Atlantic
University’s six colleges. Points
of superiority considered in his
selection were classroom
teaching, knowledge of field,
counseling, concern with student
activities, and experience.
Dr. Ziegler holds degrees from
us, Florida Atlantic University,
ind the University of Notre
.'ame. He has been psychology
consultant to the Elkhart (In
diana) County Association for
the Retarded, and taught at
Notre Dame before coming to
Florida Atlantic University in
1971. A native of Philadelphia,
Dr. Ziegler is also co-author of
the Project Breakthrough
report.
