Hussey said, “Our practices overall have been good, and our men have displayed a desire to play an aggressive defense and are coming closer together each day. We feel that our players must gain mutual respect for each other and think not of them selves, but of the team, in order to achieve our goals.” 'The basic strength of the team will be its quickness. Coach - Hussey said; “for the first time in the three years I have been here we could select eight to ten people and everyone would be exceptionally quick. Now we must develop that quickness in a team defense and cause our opponents problems through our defense.” For the first time the Crusaders will play a J.V. schedule. The team will mainly be made up from freshmen; however, there might be some sophomores on the team. Coach Hussey stated that the team was organized to give these freshmen coming to Belmont Abbey College an opportunity to play basketball on an in tercollegiate level and gain experience for the varsity. When asked to comment on the schedule for this season Coach Hussey says, “It is probably the toughest in Belmont Abbey history and will continue to get tougher. We play only the best teams in NAIA District 26, and our non-district games include major colleges and univer sities.”
