Friends of Miss Pearl Harris will be glad to know that she is recovering nicely from a recent operation at the Ronaoke Rapids hospital, and was able to leave for her home at Weldon, N. C., Sunday. The total county tax rate of $1.40 was fixed for the year 1929 1930, this being a reduction in last year’s rate of ten cents. I Mr. S. C. Cook and Mr. H. L. Beli spent Sunday in Norfolk, Va.
