Mary Eaton is the leading lady in the production. She was also seen and heard in “The Cocoanuts” with the Four Marx Brothers. A feature of the picture is the re vue scene in which appear Eddie Can tor. Helen Morgan, an 1 Rudy Vallee, each giving asatisfying performance in his own inimitable manner. They are three of the biggest personalities known to Broadway, the films and ra dio today. When they entertain, the whole world applauds. “Cockeyed World” Real Surprisingly Fine Talkie “Believe it or Not,” as Ripley would say, there is a well defined notion in our minds that Raoul Walsh has sur passed, directorially and in many oth er ways his former world wide suc cess, “What Price Gl ry,” with his Victor McLaglcn, Lily Damita, Edmund Lowe in “The Cock Eyed World” Fox Movietone All lallung Picture current production, “The Cockeyed World.” In fact, the latter which shows next Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at the Peoples Theatre, might well be called an all talking classic of the ‘Devil Dogs’ in so called peace times. JOYNER MOTOR COMPANY Roanoke Rapids Rosemary A SMOOTHER, FASTER, BETTER SIX I Lowe and Victor McLaglen have climbed many steps up the ladder of fame since their former effort by rea son of commendable portrayals in other important Fov Pictures. But in none have they appeared to better ad vantage than in this epic of the Ma rines. Now, the screen speaks thru the wonders of Fox Movietone and the ‘‘Cockeyed World” gives you the spok en word. You won’t have to guess v.hat Victor McLaglen and Edmund Lowe are saying to each other in their continual fights. You hear it and are delighted continuously. If ‘The Cockeyed World” is not the t p picture of 1929, then a whole lot of us alleged experts are cock yeyed in our judgments. L.ly Damita, co-starred with Mc Laglen and Lowe, is one of the best treats in the world for anybody’s eyes. Bobby Burns sings the theme song. "So Dear to Me,” and gives an all around throough performance. And speaking of songs, we believe that “So Long,” sung by the Marines on board a warship will soon be their "official” marching song.
