Joyner and Eugene Lehman attended a Chevrolet meet ing and banquet at Edenton Friday night. T. E. Kirby left this morning for a trip to Richmond and other points North. Mrs. Jack Weissner, who has been spending the summer at Virginia Beach will return to her home in Rosemary today. The condition of Mrs. Sam Young, of Roanoke Rapids, who underwent an operation last Saturday, is im proving. Jack Weissner, proprietor of Weiss ner’s Shoe Store at Rosemary, will leave Saturday for the northern mar kets, where he will purchase new fall merchandise for his store. Fifty-seven of the 166 kinds of trees in the State have great economic value. The production of lumber in 1928 amounted to 1,055.000.000 board feet with a value of over $7,000,000, the State occupying tenth pfefip in the United States i> the amount cut. J. E.
