Miss Emma Matthews, who is a student nurse in the Baptist Hos pital in Winston-Salem is visiting her mother, Mrs. Ida Matthews. Misses Annie Bell Cleaton, Marie and Sue Duke of Seaboard, were the guests last Sunday of Miss Addie Wright. Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Pridgen anti children visited relatives in Whitakers | last Sunday. | Messrs Carl Thompson and Craw ford Britton visited friends in Wash ington, N. C., Sunday. Ladies Aid Circle No. 1 of the Christian Church entertained all the other Circles of the Church last Tues day evening. The program was as fol lows: Song service. Scripture, little Miss Margaret Carter. Several select ions were rendered by the High School quartet, Coby Williams, Rob ert Lowe. John Glover and Norman Speight. Roll call and reports from the circles. Solo, “My Little Gypsy Sweetheart.” Norman Speight. Short talks by the Pastor, Rev. V. H. Grantham and Mr. Buck Taylor. Duet, ‘Oh Why are You Mad?” by little Miss Marie Cartre and Billie Lewis. Solo. “Little Feet Be Care ful,” by little Miss Alma Grantham. Solo by Miss Margaret Carter. There were about seventy-five present and after the program they were all in vited down in the Church dining room where after more music by the quartette and a short prayer by the Pastor, the guests were served cake, punch, peanuts and other refresh ments.
