NO WATER IN WELDON The town of Weldon was without city water yesterday afternoon by orders of County Health Officer Mitchell, when tests Tuesday showed much pollution from un known sources. The entire system was closed all drinking water and take ty phoid fever inoculation. The netire system was closed down yesterday afternoon and giv en a thoro cleaning, and health of ficials think this will solve the problem. However, tests will be taken when the new water is pumped in before Weldon water can be of ficially approved again. No ill effects have been reported from users of the water, it being thought the prompt examination and action of health authorities having caught the extent of pollu tion in the early stages. Several facts may have caused the extra pollution, one of which is the low water in the Roanoke Rivers making pollution at the source greater than normal, neces sitating stronger solutions at the filter plant.
