DIZZINESS relieved by Black-Draught “I decided to take Thedford’s Black-Draught, as I had been hav ing bilious spells," writes Mr. Chas. E. Stevens, of Columbus, Ind. “When I get bilious, I feel sleepy and tired and do not feel like doing my work. I get awfully dlzz» I know then that I had better Wse something. After I found how good Black-Draught Is, that is what I have used. I guess It rids me of the bile, for X feel bet ter— don’t feel like I am dropping Off to sleep every time I sit down. That, to me, is a very bad feeling.” Nouj you can get Blaok-Vraught in Me form of a SYRUP, for Children. James J. Corbett James J. (Gentleman Jim) Cor bett, never very strong but an extremely skilfull boxer is dead at the age of sixty-six. Vorbett, one time conqueror of the mighy John L. All-Star Football Team Is Selected Bill Alligood comes through with another one of his all-star team selections. Bill says his picks are based on the boys seen in actual combat, sportsmanship, afnd qualifications of true foot ball. Football coaches of this array of boys were Simpson, Manning, Anderson, Parks, and Hoyle. If you have any doubt to this selec tion and would like to express your opinion as to the all-time all-star team, mail your pickings to The Herald Sports Editor. First Team Pos. I ONLY HEARD ! —By ■■■ • The SPORTS EDITOR Baseball training at the local high school opened last Thursday marked by a camp fire—per haps Coach Hoyle is warming up for the coming season. The goal posts must be removed from Simmons Park—Some of the boys might injure themselves in laps around the field, as we no ticed a few skinned elbows. Hardison actually reported for baseball drills—without being pre sentend with a new pair of shoes —a good start for the team. How about our Mill teams ? Will the Bascoes, Silver Kings, and Deep Sleeps have their usual Sat urday afternoon brawls? We should think with the exceptional good material to be obtained lo cally a well managed independent outfit would be successful. George Sullivan will probably be No. 1 high school catcher this year. Let’s hope he doesn’t live up to his family tradition by strik ing out every trip to bat.—No hard feelings, Fleet! New York, St. Louis, Washing ton and others may have their “Farm” clubs, but the local high school will have two diamonds this season—when Cheek discovers a Wesley Ferrell, Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig or what have you—among his “greenhorns” he will “Farm” him out to Hoyle who handles the “Big Shots.” Will the locals repeat for cham ship honors in the State race?— Affirmative—Coach Hoyle and his staff—Negative—All class “B” high schools in the State—Where are our debators ? In Bill Alligood’s all-star pick in this issue, his name was not included. I take this opportunity to say that Bill was one of the Jackets main cogs at tackle in days gone by. J. Womble, Newton, W. Dickens, and “Snooks” Matthews perform ed on his Junior Elevens. The Red Devils play E. C. T. C. in Greenville Tuesday night which wlil close their schedule to date. Mrs. William Boone, Jr., of of Jackson is spending some time here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Welch. Wake Up Your Liver Bile —Without Calomel And You’ll Jump Out of Bed in the Morning Rarin’ to Go If you feel sour and sunk and the world looks punk, don’t swallow a lot of salts, mineral water, oil, laxative candy or chewing gum and expect them to make you suddenly sweet and buoyant and full of sunshine. For they can’t do it. They only move the bowels and a mere move ment doesn’t get at the cause. The reason for your down-and-out feeling is your liver. It should pour out two pounds of liquid bile into your bowels daily. If this bfle is not flowing freely, your food doesn’t digest. It just decays in the bowels. Gas bloats up your stomach. You have a thick, bad taste and your breath is foul, skin often breaks out in blemishes. Your head aches and you feel down and out. Your whole syBtem is poisoned. f It takes those good old CARTER’S LITTLE LTVER PILLS to get these two pounds of bile flowing freely and make you feel “up and up." They contain wonderful, harmless, gentle vegetable extracts, amazing when it comes to making the bile flow freely. (. But don’t ask for liver pills. Ask for Carter’s Little Liver Pills. Look for the name Carter’s Little Live; Pills -m the red label. Resent a substitute. 25c at all stores. © 1931, C. M. Co. Jax Win In Last Tilt Of Season A veritable holocaust brand of basketball in the first half of the Jackets tussle with Greenville high here Tuesday night, enabled the locals a safe margin to capture the last tilt of the season by a 29-32 count. At the end of the first quarter the Jax had a 15-2 take-off and the half ended with the locals still aggressive with a 23-13 score. Coach “Soup” Porter’s charges seemed better organized in the last half running their markers up to 29. The Jax with only a 3 point lead when the whistle ended the game. I. Dickens took high tossing hon ors for the Jax with 15 points and W. Dickens bagging 9 for sec ond honors. Hardee led the losers attack with 16 points. Allsbrook and Y. Brown played a great defensive game, Newton also featuring at Center. Allsbrook, Newton, W. Dickens. Y. Brown, wore the Yellow Jack ets cage colors for their last time, but wore them victorious, all turn ing in a great played game. Tom Cheek’s boys won 6 and dropped 7 of their 13 tilts this season, a much better record than expected of the team, due to lack of material. The Line-Up R. Rapids Pos.
