Baking Fruit Cake
For The Holidays,
By MISS VA. BLOUNT
Home Service Director of The
Va Electric & Power Company
Practically all the plans we are
making now hinge in someway
upon the coming of Christmas.
We are budgeting our time and
our tasks into the “be/ore and
after” tasks. There are those
things which must be accomplish
ed before Christmas comes and
the less urgent must wait until
the holiday season is over. The
propejr Christmas spirit grad -
ually comes as we begin these
happy plans, even through they
are busy days.
Most families are old fashioned
when it comes to Christmas prep
arations, especially if there are
children to come home for the
holidays. We cook our way into
the ho idays and we eat our way
out. To avoid the last minutes
rush in baking, lets bake our
fruit cakes early. They mellow
with age especialy if soaked in
wine until tty? appointed date.
