TAR HEELS MEETING By Leon Knight The Aurelian Springs Young Tar Heel Farmer Chapter met last Thursday in their chapter house and a very interesting program was given which consisted of the following: Devotional, farm poem, farm stories, farm jobs for the winter months, and a musical nu mber. Apparently the boys are be coming more interested in our pro grams since we started making most of our programs consist of the following heads: (1) Devo tional (2) Literary (3) Technical and (4) Amusement. we are hoping to organize a thrift club in the near future as a number of boys have already ex pressed themselves as being in fa vor of it and will support it so far as possble to do so. Many things may be gained from a thrift club other than the amount of mo ney to be saved at the present time. A boy that learns to save while in school will probably con tinue to do so when he gets into the world. We have been doing a lot of work in our wood shop recently and it seems that nearly every boy in agriculture is very much interested in this kind of work. Some of the things being made by the boys n shop are: milking stools, nail boxes, bird boxes, necktie racks, tables, book cases, magazine racks, wood boxes, cabi nets, etc. We don’t all expect to be carpenters, but we hope to be able to drive a nail and saw a j straight line.
