Lefty Davis held Windsor in check Saturday, keeping the hits scattered until the 7th when Sal linger’s home run with Mulhern on brought the visitors’ only two runs. Roanoke Rapids made 8 runs with I. Dickens getting a 2 bag ger and two singles, Sullivan a triple, and Allsbrook, Speight and F. Dickens oubles. Davis helped with his two singles. Hawkins and Meecham pitched for Windsor. At Hobgood Sunday, the locals went on another hitting spree on three pitchers to win 9 to 5. Hardison pitched 7 innings of good ball and left the game in the 7th with his team well ahead. He helped the cause by batting a home run, a double and two sin gles. Garris hit a home run over the fence in the second inning. Alls brook connected for a double and two singles, Speight, Moseley and Sullivan, two single each. Starke relieved Hardison in the 7th. Kirk, Earhart and Crawley pitched for Hobgood. ' Mrs. Green had been ill for some time and had been a patient at the local hospital two weeks prior to her death. Mrs. Green was the wife of Paul Green, local employee of the Vir ginia Electric and Power Com pany. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Henry, Hazel and Paul, Jr. She leaves the following members of her immediate family in Roanoke Rapids, her mother, Mrs. Lenora Matthews, two brothers, Emmett and Raymond Matthews, and two sisters, Mrs. W. E. Moody and Mrs. J. E. Tickel. Born in Virginia, Mrs. Green’s parents moved to Roanoke Rapids when she was only a few months old, and she grew to young woman hood here, attending the local schools. •-o Mrs. D. B. Griffin, 79 years old, former Roa noke Rapids resident, were held this afternoon at Williams Funeral Home with Rev. V. H. Grantham in charge.
