Judgment absolute on bond. Capias and continued. Ananias Jones, charged with lar ceny, pleaded not guilty. He was found guilty and sentenced to four months in jail. W. E. Edwards, charged with driving while drunk, reckless driv ing, and assault, pleaded not guil ty on all counts. He was found I guilty of reckless driving and as sault. Prayer for judgment was continued on condition he pays a fine of $25.00 and costs. License to drive revoked for five months. Edward Walker, charged with liquor and driving while drunk, pleaded guilty of unlawful posses sion of intoxicating liquor. Pray er for judgment continued on pay ment of costs. As to George Loomis, charged with abandonment and non-sup port, nol pros with leave. Willie Jones and Albert Jones, charged with Stolen Property, pleaded not guilty. They were found guilty and sentenced to eight months as to each. Albert Jones and Willie Jones, charged with larceny and breaking jail, pleaded guilty as to Albeit Jones and not guilty as to Willi* Jones. He was found guilty and sentenced to two years. Capias to issue any time in five years to Halifax, Warren and Northampton Counties. Geneva Boyd, charged with as sault with deadly weapon, pleaded guilty. Judgment suspended.* -o Young Folks Picnic -0 Monday afternoon at four o’ clock the Sun Beam Society of the Weldon Baptist Church and Mrs. Meade Mitchell’s Sunday School Class were given a picnic at Lake Thomas Jin Roanoke Rapids by Mrs. Meade Mitchell, Mrs. D. P. Chennteworth and Miss Maggie Mangum. Mrs. R. A. Light Dies At Heathsville Liegh Hunter Smith, Light; daughter of Obedia and Matilda Smith, and departed her life May 17, 1935. Mrs. Light had been a resident of the Heathsville community for seventy six years, and was known as Grannie Light to everyone. She was always ready and willing to render any deed of kindness to the community in any way possible. Mrs. Light is survived by her husband, Mr. R. A. Light, one sis ter, Mrs. Joe Aycock, and three children, Mrs. H. L. Haswell of En field, Mr. Bob Light of the Heaths ville community, and Mrs. C. G. Arrington; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren, as well as a host of friends and neighbors. Funeral services were held at Antioch Church, of which she had been a member a number of years. Services were conducted by Rev erend McGregory of Roxboro. F*nver girls were four grandchij dren, Sarah, Irene and Frances Arrington and Goldie Mae Light, and two nieces, Elizabeth and Mil dred Aycock. Those acting as pallbearers were; Henry Light, Raymond and Curtis Hardee, Joe and Jesse Aycock. The good Lord knows best, And took dear Grannie with Him to rest.
