Main Circus gave two exhibitions here yesterday and received ex cellent patronage both afternoon and night, the program being well worth it. There was not a dull moment in the lengthy, well-bal anced program, there being fea tures and novelties of the most pleasing variety. Within the three rings, act fol lowed act, which, as predicted by the management, formed “a show of supremely stupendous sur prises” and this is true, for the Main Cirus gave a program which was surpassingly thrilling as well as pleasing to young and old. Out standing features were the flying aMars, whose daring and thrill i** work on the flying trapeze f?°'the crowd on their toes: The Cun-Grant trio, comedy acrobats: Mitzj and Harry, high wire ar tists: Wm. Newton’s trained solo elephant: Andrew’s trained bears: Estelle Gordon, and her wonder horse “Nezeppa”: a group of smartly trained dogs: “Cupid”, the educated pony, also “Mickey McGuire,” the Hollywood chim panzee picture star, featured in the picture, “Wild Cargo.” There was also a contingent of wild west performers, cowboys, cowgirls, and real Indians, show ing sports and pastimes of the western frontier which proved a very interesting feature. Professor Hinkley’s military band no more than finishel the o verture when a sharp bias: of the equestrian director’s whistle, a signal for the big show to start, when the grand tournament with a cast of beautiful girls with jit tering costumes, funny clowis, lumbering elephants and so forth appearde, and the next moment the peaks of the big circus tent seemed filled ith aerialists, per forming a routine of seemingly impossible feats of strength and faring, beautiful equines perform ing v. ith almost human intelli gence, a feature that no circus would be complete without. The Walter L. Main Circus is a clean moral show in every respect and the entire personnel conduct ed themselves perfectly.” Cumberland is looking forward to a return visit from this circus.
