At the morning hour Rev. Wil liam Towe of Rocky Mount, who was pastor of Calvary some 20 years ago when the church was a part of the Aurelian Springs charge, was present and preached to the delight and edification of the congregation. The pastor then administered the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper to a large number of communicants. Dinner on the ground was then in order and needless to say, was enjoyed by all present. The afternoon service was en riched by the choir of the Chris tian church of Roanoke Rapids which presented three beautiful special numbers. The sermon of the afternoon was preached by Dr. T. M. Johnson of Littleton, former president of the N. C. Methodist Protestant Conference. It was a very helpful and inspiring mes sage. Calvary was nearly out on its finances Sunday and doubtless will be by the time this is printed. —W. T. Phipps, P. C. Christmas Program "Our Christmas Offering in Kingdom Building” was the mis sion topic given at the regular mis sionary meeting Tuesday night. Mrs. P. E. Allsbrook, the president, opened the regular program with a poem, “Christmas Is Coming”, fol lowed by a talk on “The Con tents of an Envelope”. Mrs. T. M. Jenkins discussed “Circling the Globe with Prayer”. Mrs. P. A Cook gave an interesting story, “Trailing A Christmas Envelope”. The pastor. Rev. J. L. Willis, gave an inspiring talk at the conclusion of the program. Twenty members and four visitors were present. Junior Circle Meets A Junior Circle of the Mary Pierce Johnson Missionary Society of the Weldon Methodist church was organized Monday evening by Mrs. S. B. Pierce, at her home on Washington avenue. The following officers were elected: Leader, Mrs. Jeff Lassiter; assistant leader, Miss Selma Whitehead; recording secretary, Miss Virginia Boseman; treasurer, Miss Mary Wyche; pi anist, Miss Hazel Neville; social relationship committee, Miss Mar tha Hawkins, chairman, Misses Lillie Mae Carter, Lucille Smith, Ruth Hardison and Louise Carter; program committee, Miss Janet Rawlings, chairman, Misses Doris Spruill and Christine Alston. There were twelve members present. The circle will hold its next meeting Monday, December 7, with Mrs. S. B. Pieroe. T. Phipps, P. C. Use New Organ | For First Time The new organ which has been installed in the Weldon Methodist church was used Sunday morning for the first time. Special music was rendered by Mr. Eugene M. Binder of Jacksonville, Florida, or ganist; “A Dream of Paradise” by Mrs. J. F. Robinson and choir; so lo, "Come Jesus, Redeemer”, by Dr. M. A. Garriss; trio, “Though Your Sins Be As Scarlet" by Miss Lucille Parker, L. G. Draper and Dr. M. A. Garriss. The organ is a Moler and has more than 1,000 pipes. Messrs. Eu gene M. Binder and W. B. Patat of Roanoke, Va. have been install ing it for the past three weeks. The organ cost between $4,500 and $4,600. A dedication service will be held at a later date. Mr. and Mrs. R. I. Starke were visitors in Lawrenceville Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. L. G. Shell and Bill spent Saturday in Chapel Hill. Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Liske spent the week-end in Littleton.
