HOSPITAL
MACHINE
Expert GE men from Charlotte
are this week installing the new
X-Ray machine equipment in the
Roanoke Rapids Hospital~ which
they say is the most modern equip
ment of this kind on the market.
The X-Ray room in the hospital
is being remodeled and re-wired to
take care of the new equipment
which was brou-jht „ out last Fall
and has not yet been improved on.
This means that the Roanoke Rap
ids Hospital has equipment such as
provided only by the biggest and
newest hospitals in the country.
Now possible are stereoscopic
films of the chest which will elim
inate all doubt and will make it
unnecessary for local patients to
go to distant places for final pic
tures.
The equipment is completely
shock-proof and there is no danger
of any kind to operators, patients
or doctors. It has the capacity to
do radiographs 1-20 of a second at
a distance of six feet from tube to
patient and has the newest im
proved fluoroscopic service.
The equipment was purchased
from the General Electric X-Ray
Machine Co. and will give the Roa
noke Rapids Hospital patients a
service never known here before
in tubercular tests, as well as frac
tures and breaks.
