B RIVER RISING FAST DUE TO REACH 40 FEET BY SUNDAY The Roanoke Riveras rising fast and is due to reach a height of 40 feet at Weldon Saturday aft ernoon or Sunday morning, according to news re ceived by F. C. Williams here tonight. This means a 20 foot rise at Roanoke Rapids and the possibility that, if the rise does not sub side by Monday, Roanoke Mills No. 1 may not be able to run that day. The high rise of last year was 43 feet at Wel don. Heavy and steady rains over a period of sev eral days are responsible for the early rise this year. Rain is falling all over the country.
