Owls Guests
At Fan Stew
Baseball fans gave a Brunswick
Stew in honor of the Textile Owls
of Roanoke Rapids at Harrison
Springs Monday afternoon.
About 100 attended and partook
of splendid stew and trimmings
fixed up by Chefs Bill Pace and
John Baird.
The afternoon’s entertainment
was arranged by Paul Harris of
the Roanoke No. 1 Recreation
Committee.
Bride Honored
Mrs. Andrew Parker was honored
on Thursday evening with a miscel
laneous shower at the home of her
mother, Mrs. W. A. Harvey, in En
field.
Mrs. C. P. Haskins invited the
guests to register in the Bride’s
Book and Miss Gene Bobbitt, as
sisted by Miss Louise Harvey, en
tertained with several games and
contests.
Master Owen Holt Bellamy and
little Bettie Lou Davis, niece of
the bride, presented her with a
shower of gifts in an open umbrel
la. Mrs. Parker received many
beautiful and useful gifts.
Ice cream and cake was served
by the hostesses, Mrs. W. A. Har
vey an,1 Miss Louise Harvey. A
bout thirty guests were present.
Mrs. Parker was before her mar

home on Friday evening in Enfield.

prize, an attractive tea bell. Mrs.
