IN MEMORIAM
In remembrance of George Stan
ley.
Dear Uncle George,
Although you have gone away,
I still find that I miss you more ev
ery day,
I will remember always what a pal
you were to me,
And how happy you could make me
be.
In my life there will always be an
empty space,
For no one can ever take your
place.
I should be happy now that you are
out of your trouble,
And that never again will you have
to struggle;
But dear Uncle, I miss you,
And all your other loved ones do,
too— |
You every act of kindness, will al
ways be cherished in my heart,
And your loving memory will never
part. |

C. L. SHUPING i
Will C. L. Shuping of Greensboro
also enter the field against Senator
Robert R. Reynolds? This news
paper this week received a clipping
from The Greensboro Daily News
and a new cut of Mr. Shuping from
Greensboro. Other newspapers in
the State will probably receive the
same. The article, boiled down,
states that Mr. Shuping might run.
Since the cold reception given
Congressman Frank Hancock’s an
nouncement that he would run a
gainst the popular Senator Rey
nolds, there has been a frantic en
deavor to get others in the field.
Ex-Senator Cam Morrison made a
neat gesture toward Governor Ho
ey, which the Governor just as
neatly parried. A trial balloon is
being sent up for Speaker Gregg
Cherry with the Raleigh News &
Observer furnishing much of the
gas.
Meanwhile, Senator Reynolds Is
covering the Western part of the
United States getting first hand in
formation on the national situation
and speaking practically every day
before national patriotic organiza
tions. He will return to Wash- i
ington a few days before the spe- !
cial session of Congress. His. af
