UP AND DOWN WITH THH TShe Avenue foelil&i I • • There will be an emergency meeting of As sociated Charities at the Municipal Building at 7:15 p.m. Monday. All churches and clubs are urged to have representatives present as very im portant business must be decided. • • It is going to be very difficult to fill the place as head of Associated Charities, held for many years by the Rev. J. N. Bynum. We know of no more thankless job in town for which you get no pay. Folks bothering you all hours of the day and night. Folks mad at you when you know they do not deserve aid and must refuse them; others thinking they should get more than they do; and all the time, the worry of spreading the few dollars thin so they will last as long as possible. We do not wish to discourage a successor, but it is just as well to face the facts and admit that filling Joe Bynum’s shoes is a hard task.
