Fifteen hundred ardent Owl baseball fans gathered in front of Rosemary Drug Company to night fully expecting the home-town team, enter ed in the National Semi-Pro “World Series” in Wichita, Kansas to crash through with their third victory in a row—only to see the Owls go down to defeat under the powerful Mt. "Lefty” Davis, veteran Roanoke Rapids hurler, pitched "air-tight” ball up to the eighth inning, when he was relieved by Joe Talley, who seemed to be off form tonight, lat er being relieved by Tom Taylor, —Continued on Page 4, Sec.
