A PAGE OF TAX FORECLOSURE NOTICES ! U.S. FAMILY NEW YORK — “Unity,” the sculpture by Harry Poole Camden, of Parkersburg, West Virginia, which won for him the $10,000 prize in the contest for sculpture to embellish the United States Government Building at the New York World’s Fair 1939. The group represents a typical American family being sheltered by the symbol of “Unity.” There were 430 contestants in the competition, which was held in the Fair’s Hall of Communications. Letters should bs short and to the point. Their content does not necessarily express the views of Ur lewspaper. However, we welc' 3 short letters of expres sions on any matter of general public interest from any Herald •tihscriber. All must be signed. The Herald, Dear Carroll: Just a few words about our ball club here in Wichita. We arrived about six o’clock, Saturday, after about 50 hours of riding. The boys seemed very jolly all the way. They did almost everything to keep a wake from smoking, singing, and some even nursed babies on the way up. The comedians were Vic Bradford and “Smut” Aderholt. I wish that our friends could have seen these boys put it on. It was just like a real show when they started, but it took Joe Talley, with his dry jokes, to hush them up. These boys looked like the same old Owls, in the game, Sunday night; and unless I miss my guess, we are going to give somebody some trouble before this tourna ment is over. we appreciate the telegrams we are receiving from our friends, and the Herald. It was passed a round many times before it was received. It looked like a young war had started to find out who -was to read it first Tou might send more if you can, for they are really appreciated by all. The boys are taking plenty of rest for they want to win the championship for Roanoke Rapids and its baseball fans. Paul E. Harris, President Roanoke Rapids ^ Baseball Club.
