C._THURSDAY, NOV. 24, 1938 NUMBER 20 I Part of the 200 citizens of Roanoke Rapids who have agreed to give their time next week securing pledges for the Roanoke Rapids Community Chest Fund are shown above. The drive for funds will start Monday, November 28tti. Every person in Roanok e Rapids will be asked to pledge so much per week or month to take care of charity needs and character-building programs among the boys and juris of the community fo r 1939. Next Monday night, all workers and every citizen interested is invited to a meeting of the Community Chest at the High School auditorium, when the drive will be o fficially launched, altho workers will begin solicitations Monday morning. Reports will be heard each night during the week from the various team leaders.* The campaign slogan is “Be Glad You Can Give”. Details of the organization, the list of teams, and gen eral information concerning the Community Chest will be found^on inside pages of this issue.
