OWLS PLAN GAMES
ON SAT. AND SUN.
Business Manager Shearod
Crumpler announced tonight that
the Owls would play two games
here during the week-end. He is
negotiating with the strong 7-Up
team in Washington, D. C., for a
two-game series on Saturday and
S&ndny. If he -cannot make ar
rangements to play the 7-Up club,
he expects to have Adam Millis,
one of the strong High Point
teams that participated in the
state tournament, here for the Sat
urday’s game, and Ca-Vel of Box
boro here for the Sunday’s game.
The 7-Up team enjoys a wide
reputation of having one of the
fastest semipro aggregations in
the capitol city. Both Adam Millis
and Ca-Vel have been among the
leading teams of their sections this
season. Adam Millis was rated one
of the strongest teams in the state
semipro tourney, having lost out
early by reason of some tough
breaks. The Ca-Vel club, which
played here earlier in the year, has
added to its club some experienced
and talented material until they
have a winning ball club. It is
the desire of the Roxboro players
to avenge themselves of the defeat
the Owls handed them on their
former visit here.

The four men were returning from the Owls

the car, driven by Edward Elmore, got out of con

of the road, according to people who talked to El
more just after the accident. Before the car could
be righted again, it struck the abutment of a small
bridge just outside of Creedmoor. The motor was
forced back through the dashboard, pinning El
