W. L. Taylor Is Buried Here Today Funeral services for William Lewis Taylor, 49, were held at the Christian Church at 4:30 this af ternoon, with the Rev. T. E. Tom erlin conducting. Interment was in the Roanoke Rapid Cemetery. Mr. Taylor died in the Roanoke Rapids Hospital Wednesday morning after an illness of about ten days. The deceased, whose home was in South Rosemary, came to this city 33 years ago from Warren County. He was employed by the Rosemary Manufacturing Company. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Man nie Cleaton Taylor; a daughter, Ruth Taylor; two sons, William L. Jr. and Calvin Payne; three sisters, Mrs. Gray, Miss Mayme Taylor, and Mrs. Omega Shell, all of South Rosemary; and a brother, G. B. (Buck) Taylor of this city. Ferguson Child Is Injured In Fall From Moving Car Alton Ferguson, 5-year-old son of Roland Ferguson who is employed by the Fred Forest Lunch Room, was painfully injured Tuesday af ternoon when he fell from his fath er's moving machine. The child, knocked unconscious by the force of the fall, received a large scalp wound, but is believed not serious ly injured. The boy and a younger brother were in the back seat of the ma chine coming toward Roanoke Rap ids on the Highway near the Tilghman Airport when the acci dent occurred. The child is be lieved to have opened the door, al lowing himself to fall out. He hit on the dirt shoulder of the road. The other child was injured slightly by the sudden stopping of the car by Mr. Ferguson when he realized the boy had fallen out. Entertains Club Mrs. Bill Alligood was hostess to the Tuesday Night Bridge Club this week. High score prize for club members went to Mrs. Jimmie Curran, second high to Mrs. J. A. Wood. Mrs. H. E. Gibnon won guest high prize. Mrs. H. B. Rose, guest of the club, was remembered with a gift. A sweet course with coffee was served at ten thirty. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Kennemur of Benson spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Kennemur. Miss Becky Bounds of Raleigh spent the week-end with her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Bounds. G. R.
