Wike and daughters, Nancy and Catherine, will leave Friday for Granite Falls. Pirates To Play All-Star Team Of Rocky Mt. Here The Patterson Mill Pirates will pay the Rocky Mount All-Stars in a doubleheader at the Patterson bah park here Friday night, and the first game will be called promptly at 8 o’clock. It will be the first time this year that the Patterson Pirates have played the Rocky Mount All Stars, who have tangled with the Rosemary Romanco’s earlier this season. Jerry Cranford will pitch the first game for the Pirates, and Robert "Slug” Lassiter will hurl the second. Roy Blythe will catch both games. For Rocky Mount, Bud Coley will be on the mound the first game, and Richard Ezzell will be trying to battle the Pirates with his offerings from the mound in the second affair. Robert Sykes will be behind the plate for the irisitors during both games. Coley, Rocky Mount hurler, pitched a no-hit, no-run game ruesday night against the Raleigh Mi-Stars. Immediately after the ceremony :he couple left for a wedding trip. Mrs. Crawley isthe daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel William Mc Donald of Roanoke Rapids. She lolds a position in the office of Ftoanoke Mills Company. Mrs. Crawley is the daughter of David Blount Crawley, Sr., of En iield, and the late Mr. Crawley. He is connected with the firm if T-TnlliHnv nnri "Whitaker HONORS BRIDE-ELECT Mrs. Graham Shell was hostess :>n Friday evening honoring Miss Winifred Shell, whose wedding to George Nethercutt takes place on Sunday, July 6, with a bridge shower at her home on Madison Street. Bowls of lovely hydrangeas and roses added effectively to the occasion. Three tables of players enjoyed four progressions, after which the scores were collected and Mrs. McQueen Cameron was presented the high score prize. The honoree was remembered with linen. Centering the bride-elect’s table, after the cards were re moved, was an attractive center piece of cellophane with miniature bride and groom. The favors were miniature sprinklers in green and white with green and white mints. A salad plate was enjoyed with fruit punch. After serving refresh ments, a serving table was rolled in the living room piled with many packages of lovely gifts, suspended from a large summer parasol in varigated colors with cellophane streamers. As Miss Shell opened the gifts she grac iously expressed her thanks to each one. Several guests came in for refreshments. Mrs. Shell was assisted by Mrs. Bill Dunning in entertaining and serving the guests. ENTERTAIN AT PARTY Misses Margaret Anne and Betty Wynne Ingram entertained with a party at the Girl Scout Hut last Friday night on the occasion of their birthday.
