SCOTLAND NECK WILL GET N.Y.A. YOUTH CENTER Training Center Will Be Located Soon, Kerr Says The National Youth Adminiistra tion soon will locate a large train ing center at Scotland Neck, ac cording to an announcement by Representative John H. Kerr. Location of an industrial train ing center at Scotland Neck in the near future was assured by Deputy NYA Administrator D. B. Lasseter, Kerr reported, and it is possible that a vocational agri culture training center will be added. Kerr presented the proposal to the NYA executive in company with Norfleet McDowell, chairman, and Eric W. Rogers, secretary of the Scotland Neck Better Busi ness Bureau; J. W. Whitaker, chairman of the Halifax County Board of Commissioners; Wade H. Dickens and Henry Clark, all of Scotland Neck. Detailed plans for the center have yet to be drafted, Kerr said, but definite assurances have been given that “some kind” of an industrial training center for young people will be located at Scotland Neck. It also is Kerr’s impression that it will be a comparatively large center that will provide training for many young people in many of the counties sur rounding Scotland Neck.
