LITTLETON (Crowded out last week) Messrs. Bobby Patterson, Jack May and Lacy Rowe spent the week-end in Norfolk and at Virgin ia Beach. Mr. and Mrs. Turner Robertson and Mr. Bernard Robertson of Washington, D. C., spent several days last week with Mrs. R. I. Riggan. Mrs. Douglas Gray and daughter of Toronto, Canada, are visiting in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ivey Hale. Mr. and Mrs. Clement Pegram and daughter, Dorothy, spent Sun in Norfolk with relatives. Anne Marie, Ruth and Madeline Joyner aro spending the week with their grandparents in Louisburg. Mrs. L. M. Johnson, of Durham, and Mrs. W. E. Timberlake and daughter, Miss Gertie Nelson, of Laurinburg spent the week-end in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Cleve Stallings. Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Joyner spent Friday in Emporia, Va. Ormond White, of Norfolk, was a visitor in town on Monday after noon. Mrs. A. K. Mustian and children of Warrenton spent Monday with her mother, Mrs. John Kirkland. Misses Ruth and Ruby Topping are expecting to attend the Tobac co Festival in Wilson this week. Miss Ruth Topping will represent Littleton. Carlyle King left Monday for In dianapolis, Indiana, where he has accepted a position as textile in spector. Miss Clara Stott has returned from a visit in Bailey. Mr. and Mrs. E. O. Hall have re turned to their home in Reidsville after having spent several weeks with relatives here and at Warren ton. Mrs. Myrtice Best, of Washing ton, D. C spent last week with her mother, Mrs. Walter Carter, near Littleton. Sterling Johnson of Newport News arrived Saturday to spend his vacation with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Johnston. Misses Emma Bonney and Dor is Hayes, Messrs. W. T. Threewitts and Anthony Johnston spent Sun day at Virginia Beach. Mrs. Mabel Pegram, Miss Lois Walker and Bill Pegram spent Sunday at Virginia Beach. Raymond Thornton attended the Boyd Clan reunion in Boydton, Va., on Saturday afternoon. Mrs. E. C. Dickens and son of Richmond are visiting in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Walker. Leigh Glasgow is visiting rela tives in Wilson this week. Miss Dorothy Powell, of Warren ton, is visiting Miss Jackie Moore this week. Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Shearin and children have returned to their home in Hobgood after spending the week with Mr. and Mrs. J. V. Shearin near here. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Boone of Norfolk, spent the week-end with relatives in Vaughan and near Lit tleton. Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Stansbury attended the Shearin family reun ion in Roanoke Rapids on Sunday. Mrs. J. V. Shearin has returned to her home near here from Wash ington, D. C., where she has been with her granddaughter, who had an operation. Miss Kittie Rose Neal and Miss Gertie M. Pitchford of Warrenton spent Wednesday with Mr. and Mrs. W. r . williams. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Overby spent Sunday in Warren Plains with relatives. Mrs. Dorma Brown, who has been visiting her daughter, Mrs. Norman Best on College Street, has return ed to her home in Roanoke Rapids. Miss Beth Partin arrived today from Greenville where she has been attending summer school to be the guest of her mother, Mrs. Alice Partin, until school reopens in the fall. Miss Sallie Boyce of Wilson ar rived Friday to spend two weeks with her mother, Mrs. J. B. Boyce. Privates Fred Maynard Benton and Harry Babb, of Camp Wheeler, Ga., spent the week-end with Ben ton’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Will Benton. James Thrower spent several days last week on a fishing trip at Swansquarter. Mrs. Paul Johnston has return ed from n visit with relatives in Chapel Hill and Fayetteville. A. F. Vick, who has been visit ing near Nashville for the past month, returned Wednesday to his home here. N. W. Warren and John Skinner have returned from a county com missioner’s convention at Wrights ville Beach. Miss Dorothy Johnston has re turned from a \ isit in Raleigh with her sister, Miss Jane Johnston. John Leach, of Washington, D. C., spent the week-end with his mother, Mrs. John Leach. Mrs. A. P. Farmer spent last Tuesday in Norfolk. Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Rowe and family of Norfolk, spent Sunday with Miss Josephine Alston. Mr. and Mrs. Edward A. Darden and son, Ducky, have returned to their home in Norfolk after spend ing several days with Mrs. Dar den’s sister, Mrs. Turner Three witts. P. Farmer, of Norfolk and Miss Dorothy Farmer of Ports mouth, spent the week-end with family here. Miss Farmer will re main for two weeks.
