Fields, pastor of the Rosemary Methodist Church, is assisting this week at the annual revival services at the Concord Methodist Church, near Seaboard. The Rev. J. Bascom Hurley is pas tor of the church, and the revival opened last Sunday night Northampton Health Budget Is $26,787.97 Dr. W. R. Parker, director of the Northampton County Department of Health, has announced that the budget for the current fiscal year, June 30, 1941, to June 30, 1942, calls for expenditure of $26,787.97. Northampton will appropriate $8,879.57, or slightly less than one third, of the total amount. The Children’s Bureau of the United States Department of Public Health, which is sponsoring a ma ternity and infancy project in the county, will contribute $11,180 to pay the salaries of special nurses and equipment and medical sup plies. The federal government and the State will also appropriate $3,460.40 for control and elimina tion of veneral disease. United States Public Health funds will con tribute $2,200 for general health policies and the State will con tribute $1,068. i_ Last year the county appropriated $9,415 in the general budget for the department and fixed a tax rate of 10 cents for public health. Relief Rolls In Northampton Lowest In Years Northampton County relief rolls are lower than at any time in sev eral years, it was revealed today, and applications for work under WPA are becoming less each day. Only 160 people are now working on WPA projects in the county, and they are employed on road building and improvement projects, school grounds and buildings, and the Seaboard water and sewer pro ject. However a pick up in applica tions for WPA jobs is expected as soon as winter begins, and those who are now working in de fense projects are discharged be cause of completion of the work.
