NOTICE OP SALE
By virtue of the authority con
tained in a certain judgment, or
order of sale, in that certain special
proceeding entitled “Mrs. V. C.
Daughtry, Administratrix, c. t. a.
of the estate of J. C. Harlow vs.
Mrs. Nancy H. Tysor, et al”, duly
filed in the office of the Clerk of
the Superior Court for Halifax
County, North Carolina, the un
dersigned Commissioner will on the
6 day of April, 1943, at 12:00 o’clock
noon, at the Courthouse door in
Halifax, North Carolina, offer for
sale at public auction to the high
est bidder for cash the hereinafter
described tract or parcel of land,
to-wit:
All that certain tract or parcel of
land lying and being situate in
Faucetts Township, Halifax County,
North Carolina adjoining the lands
of W. C. Daniel and W. M. Perkins
and commencing at a white oak
on a path near Wildcat Branch;
running thence N. 10 W. 139 poles
to a black gum on Darline Branch;
thence down said branch to a corn
er Willow Oak; thence 4 W. to a
Water Oak, in Wildcat Branch;
thence up the branch to a comer
gum; thence S. 85, W. to the point
of beginning, said tract originally
containing iuu acres, more or less,
approximately 60 acres of which
have been sold to C. F. Hedgepeth;
the same being the identical real
property and tract of land known
as the Home place of the said J. C.
Harlow, and being all of the real
property of which the said J. C.
Harlow died seized, saving and ex
cepting from the foregoing des
cription that certain one-half acre
reserved as a family burial ground
described as follows, to-wit:
Beginning at an iron pipe in the
Southwest corner of said plot here
in described which is located by be
ginning at a two inch iron pipe in
the Southwest corner of the J. C.
Harlow tract of land; thence N. 26°
45; E. 737 feet to a Persimmon Tree;
thence N. 69° 15’ E. 435 feet to said
iron pipe, the beginning point in
the description of the herein des
cribed cemetery tract; running
thence due North 105 feet to an
iron pipe; thence at right angles
and running due East 105 feet to
an iron pipe; thence at right angles
and running due South 105 feet to
an iron pipe; thence at right angles
and running due West 105 feet to
an iron pipe, the point of begin
ning; said cemetery tract contain
ing one-half acre by survey.
This sale is made subject to the
confirmation of the Court and oth
er terms and conditions will be an
nounced at said sale.
