Mrs. Gladys Perkinson and son, Buddie spent the week end in Greenville and Oak City. WOOD - TOWE The wedding of Miss Sarah Crawford Towe and Lieut. George Samuel Wood was solemnized in the Travis Park Methodist Church in San Antonio, Texas, Thursday, , April 22nd, at 6:30 o’clock. The wedding vows were spoken by candlelight to Dr. Albert P. Shir key, Pastor of the church and a ‘ friend of the bride’s family. The ring ceremony was used. The altar made a lovely scene decorated in white. Prior to the ceremony a program of nuptial music was rendered by ' Mrs. Harry Leap, Organist. She played "At Dawning," “I Love . You Truly,” “Because,” and “O | Perfect Love.” “To a Wild Rose” was played softly during the cere mony. The traditional wedding marches were used. The bride entered the church ’ with Mrs. W. J. Yeilding. She wore a wedding gown of ivory slipper satin, trimmed in old fas hion lace. Her veil of illusion fell from a tiara of tulle and she car f ried a colonial bouquet of bride’s roses showered with lilies of the valley. Her only ornament was a pearl necklace. They were met at the altar by ’ the bridegroom and his best man, Lieut. Clinton A. Weaver of Port t land, Oregon and Hondo Field Texas. f Immediately following the cere ^ mony the bride changed to a dress of mist blue with purple ac cessories and a shoulder corsage ^ of white roses and lilies of the ( valley, taken from her bridal bou quet. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Leslie Towe of Roanoke Rapids. She graduated , from Roanoke Rapids High School and received her A. B. Degree j from Duke University with Phi Beta Kappa Honors. She was a member of Phi Mu Sorority. Be , fore her marriage she was a mem ber of the faculty at Needham , Broughton High School in Ral eigh. ' Lieut. Wood, son of the late Mr. ' and Mrs. James Montgomery Wood of Roanoke Rapids, was gradu , ated from Roanoke Rapids High School and attended Duke Univer sity. He has just received his com mission as a Navigator in the U. ’ S. Army Air Corps. Lieut, and Mrs. Wood are mak ing their home in San Antonio, Texas.
