Meeting Of Home
Ec. Teachers For
4 Counties Held
On August i6, home economics
teachers and Miss Mabel Lacey,
Supervisor of four counties, Bertie,
Halifax, Northampton and Hert
ford, held their monthly profes
sional meeting in Rich Square.
The purpose of the meeting was
to organize for the school year
1943-44, and make a definite pro
gram of work for monthly meet
ings for the year.
The officers elected were: Presi
dent—Miss Camille Clark, Rich
Square; Secretary-Treasurer, Mrs.
Evelyn T. Sandlin, Roanoke Rap
ids.
The monthly programs will con
sist of discussions and illustrations
of the following topics.
1. Lunch Room and Publictiy.
2. Home Projects—Reports and
Reporting.

The September meeting is sched
uled for Monday, September 20,
3:00 P. M. in Rich Square. The
topics for discussion will be:

School.
2. Working with Food Distribu
tion Administration—by Mrs. V. C.
Matthews, Superntendent of Hali
fax County schools.
3. Management—by Mrs. G. G.
West, Ahoskie High School.
4. Education—by Miss Laraine
Horne, Roanoke Rapids High
School.
B. Publicity of the Home Eco
nomics Program—by Miss Prue
Newby, Winsdor High School.

will make their home. They were
accompanied by Mrs. H. E. Gib
son who will visit them.
Mrs. Phillip Reaves of Norfolk,
Va., was called here Friday on ac
count of the illness of her sister,
Miss Bealuh Gibson.
Mrs. W. S. Saunders returned
last week from Roanoke, Va., and
Danville, Va.
Mrs. Edna Brown returned Mon
day from a trip to Norfolk.
Mr. Mooney Greenberg and son,
Moses, spent last week in Rich
mond.
