"Soul and Body” was the sub
ject of the Lesson-Sermon in all
Christian Science Churches and So
cieties on Sunday, November 19.
The Golden Text was from
Psalms 84:2. "My soul longeth, yea,
even fainteth for the courts of the
Lord: my heart and my flesh
crieth out for the living God.”
Among the citations which com
prised the Lesson-Sermon were the
following from the Bible: “Breth
ren, I count not myself to have
apprehended: but this one thing
I do, forgetting those things which
are behind, and reaching forth un
to those things which are before,
I- press toward the mark for the
prize of the high calling of God
in Christ Jesus. Who shall change
our vile body, that it may be
fashioned like unto his glorious
body, according to the working
whereby He is able to subdue all
things unto himself” (Philippians
3: 13, 14, 20, 21).
The Lesson-Sermon also includ
ed the following passages from the
Christian Science? textbook, “Sci

Scriptures” by Mary Baker Eddy:
“The Science of being reveals man
as perfect, even as the Father is
oerfect, because the Soul, or Mind,

ARE NEEDED ,

The battle on the home front
will end only with the defeat of
Japan. The false optimism now
sweeping the country that the war
is almost over is merely playi/
into the hands of our other enemy,
Germany. The Germans realize
they cannot win the war, but plan
to make allied victory so terribly
expensive, aided by the breakdown
in civilian work and morale, th0
we will make a compromise deal
rather than pay the price of un
conditional surrender.
Women in Roanoke Rapids plan
ning to work as clerks, typists or
stenographers for our government
in this hour of need, are request
ed to see Mrs. Lucy L. Murray,
