Enfield — The Hardawee P. T.
A. held its November meeting in
the school building Thursday night,
^November 15, at 7:30 o’clock.
T A very short Thanksgiving pro
gram was presented first including
the following numbers:
• Scripture — Psalm 100, led by
L. W. Locke.
Prayer—Giving Thanks, by Er
ma Browning and Jimmy Hardee.
Poem—Pilgrim Fathers, by Mat
tie Lee Ward.
Song—Come, Ye Thankful Peo
ple—a group of children.
A The guest speaker, Principal T.
*®0. Hickman, gave an inspiring talk
on the subject of Spiritual Educa
tion. He stressed the importance,
of letting our lives be an example
of spiritual guidance.
At the conclusion of the pro
gram a business session was held.
The bond sale was discussed, and
a committee was appointed to so
licit sales of bonds in the Hardra
wee community. Contributions
a^were given towards a Thanksgiv
ing basket and a silver offering
for a very deserving invalid aldy
of Halifax County.

George C. Wiggins, colored, of
Washington, D. C., plead guilty to
reckless driving and offered to
pay $500 to the prosecuting wit
ness, Mrs. Mildred Smith, who was
, injured in the wreck. Plea accept
»ed and prayer for judgment con
tinued upon payment of the costs
and the sum of $500.
Vernon D. Weathersbee, white,
of Hobgood, plead guilty to reck
less driving and judgment is sus
pended upon payment of the costs.
Wingate Bryant, white, of Virgi
nia, charged with violation of em
ployment act was found not guilty.

Leon Shaw, colored, of Halifax
Township, charged with trespass
and assault was found not guilty.
George Lee Hawkins, colored,
of Faucetts Township, plead guil
ty to driving while drunk and was
given six months roads suspended
upon payment of a fine of $50,
and the costs, and on condition he
remains of good behavior for two
years, during which time he is to
refrain from the use of alcoholic
beverages.
William Hawkins, colored, charg
ed with driving without drivers lic
ense and improper lights, prayer
for judgment continued on pay
ment of the costs and on condition
he does not violate any motor ve
hicle laws for 12 months.
Andrew Taylor, colored, of Wel
don, plead guilty to being drunk
and disorderly and was given 30
days roads to run concurrently
with sentence of 8 months roads
which was a suspended sentence
violated.
Andrew Crowell, colored, was
found guilty to being drunk and
disorderly and cursing on the
highway and was given 60 days
roads.
