Greetings to the Boy Scouts on
their 36th anniversary and con
gratulations on what they have
accomplished this year. HAPPY
BIRTHDAY and HAPPY SCOUT
ING!
TROOP 6 EXPLORES:
Alter a supper meeting last Mon
day evening, Troop 6 went ex
ploring—not the by-ways and hedg
es, but the assembly room in the
Girl Scout Hut. The Scouts made
a systematic recording of their
findings in the troop cabinet and
the window boxes. Under a mound
of ashes they discovered a huge
fireplace. After the excavation,
theyl made a most attractive ar
rangement for the mantle, using
real wooden shoes as book ends
to support the books chosen from
the Scout Library. They mopped
the walls and saw the golden
brown finish of the logs.
With a feeling of having really
accomplished something, Troop 6
invites other troops to take up
where they left off and find that
"hut clean-up” has GLAMOUR
and ADVENTURE.
TROOP 10 ISSUES WARNING:
Having company is such fun
that Troop 10 wants to have spec
ial guest attend every supper
meeting but it’s only fair to warn
aynone fishing for an inviation
that you might have to sing for
your supper.
Last Wednesday evenling, Troop
10 dusted off its company man
Tiers and invited Erlene Keeter
and Joyce Hall of Troop 5 to
feast upon “Bags of Gold" (cheese
biscuits cooked in tomato soup).
The Scouts remembered Erlene
and Joyce sang to them last
spring when cney spent the night
at the Hut and showered them
with so many request the guest
felt as if they really had to sing
for their supper.
TROOPS SORT V-CLOTHING:
After the Boy Scouts made a
house to house collection of old
clothes for the Victory Clothing
Campaign, the Girl Scouts report
ed for duty at the armory. Their
job was to sort the clothes and
shoes for packing; thus another
link was added to the chain of
International Friendship. *
