Mrs. Paul T. Overton Is Hostess at Bridge Mrs. Paul T. Overton was host ess to the Tuesday Night Club at her home Tuesday evening at eight o’clock with three tables of bridge. The home was very attractive with evergreen and spring flowers. A number of pro gressions were played before scores were added and prizes awarded. Mrs. Beaman Helms won high, Mrs. W. H. Carter won second and Mrs. Earl Rook won consolation. A delicious salad plate with coffee was enjoyed at re freshment time. Those enjoying Mrs. Overton’s hospitality were: Mesdames A. L. Gilliam, George Pappendick, Earl Rook, A. O. George, Beaman Helms, G. S. Bunn, Ivey Mohome, J. A. Wood, M. F. White, H. C. Wirtz, W. H. Carter and Miss Edna Wafford. Joint Hostesses To Teachers Bridge Club Saturday night Misses Hazel Cobb, Marjorie Cannon, and “Liz” Tait jointly entertained the Teach er’s Bridge Club .in the home of Miss Cannon. The house was made attractive with lovely spring flowers. High score was won by Miss Virginia Gates and floating was given Miss “Lib” Wilder. At 10:30 o’clock a Salad course was served to Mesdames I. E. Ready, A. C. Zollicoffer, Buddy Beckwith, Cranford Hoyle, Clay ton Gurley, Ailenne Cannon, Martha Daughtry, Misses Mar garet Manning, Viola Glover, “Lib” Wilder, Winifred Beckwith, Virginia Gates, Ada Edwards, Sarah Cannon, Mary Hix, Rilby Madrey, and Mrs. Ferdinand Schmidt came in for refreshments. Captain George T. Burton left last week for Camp Swift, Texas, where he will receive his dis charge. C., Dr. R. C. Campbell, pastor officiated in the presence of a large assemblage of relatives and friends, using the double ring cer emony. Mrs. Browning is the charming and attractive daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Mason Faison of Columbia, her mother being the former Lottie Mae Greene of Roa i noke Rapids, N. C. Mr. Browning is the son of Mr. | and Mrs. Walker Bowman Brown ing (Florence Drummond) of Rid- _ geville. He attended Clemson Col lege and before entering the ser vice in 1942 was in business with § his father at Ridgeville. The bride groom served two and a ha f years in the Pacific with the Sig nal corps and he received his || discharge early in December. He | has now resumed his business as sociation in Ridgeville.
