" ^ BECAUSE HE OPPOSES SALES TAX | TO THE VOTERS OF HALIFAX COUNTY: As you know, I am a Candidate for The House of Representa ;; fives, and will appreciate your vote and support. It is impossible for me to sec each of you in person so I am taking the opportunity of appealing to you through the Press, so I please take this as a friendly message from me to you. j| If I am elected, I promise the people of Halifax County, and the | State of North Carolina, that I will use my best efforts to repeal f SI the Sales Tax, which I think is one of the most unfair taxes the peo- j pie of North Carolina were ever burdened with. This Tax was im- jg posed as an emergency Tax, but now that the State of North Caro- j lina is in a sound financial condition (as shown by the reserve 1 1 fund) I think it is time to do away with the Sales Tax. I will personally see that a Bill to repeal the Sales Tax is pre-J| j sented to the House of Representatives, and will do all in my powerj C to have the Bill passed in the House and Senate. If you are opposed to the Sales Tax, then support me in the 1 Primary of May 25th, and I will support you in Raleigh. Yours very truly, Signed: W. J.
