CHRISTIAN SCIENCE
SERVICE
“SACRAMENT" was the subject
of the Lesson-Sermon in all
Christian Science Church and So
cieties on Sunday, July 14.
The Golden Text was from I
Corinthians 10: 16. “The cup of
the blessing which we bless,, is it
not the communion of the blood of
Christ? The bread which we break
is it not the communion of the
body of Christ?”
Among the citations comprising
the Lesson-Sermon were the fol
lowing: The Bible, “Study to shew
thyself approved unto God, a
workman that needeth not to be
ashamed, rightly dividing the word
of truth” (H Timothy 2: 15).) And
from Science and Health with Key
to the Scriptures” by Mary Baker
Eddy: “Few understand or adhere
to Jesus' precepts for living and
healing. Why? Because his pre
cepts require the disciple to cut
•off the right hand and pluck out
the right eye,—that is, to set
aside the most cherished beliefs
and practices, and leave all for
Christ” (F 141).
